Why Phil exists
It was never about the arguments.
You know the answers. You have heard them a hundred times and given them yourself. And then you are standing there, your heart is pounding, he is looking at you, and the first sentence will not come.
At midnight it all comes back to you.
3 Circles
Three circles on a napkin.
Believers do this all over the world. Phil does it on your iPhone. You swipe through eight slides, the drawing grows while you talk, and the person across from you watches the whole thing happen.
Nothing to memorize. Nothing to draw. Turn the phone sideways and hold it out to him.
The method is called 3 Circles and comes from Life on Mission.

That is not the moment to go hunting. The verses are ready, in the order you need them.
Treasure hunt
Before you head out, you listen.
You write down what comes to you beforehand. A place, a color, a name, a pain. Out on the street it is all on one screen, and you are not digging through your notes.
And when you meet someone one of them fits, you can show him that card. Only what was meant for him. Your notes stay where they belong.
A prophetic word is something you say. You do not hold it up to someone on a screen.
Testimonies
You are going to forget it.
Not right away. The big part stays a while: that she could lift her arm again, that he cried, that something changed that afternoon.
But the name goes first. Then the place. Half a year later you tell the story roughly, and at some point you stop telling it.
In Phil it is written down: who, where, what happened. A photo, if you took one. And if someone shows you his medical report because he wants you to have it, it sits there with the story.
Prayer list
Some names stay with you.
You prayed for someone once, and you have thought about him every week since. Names like that go on a list in Phil, with whatever has moved next to them.
When a prayer gets answered it does not disappear. It stays on the page. On tired days that is the page you open.
Follow-up
“I’ll get back to you.” And then Monday comes.
Set the date while you are still standing there with him. Phil reminds you and puts it in your calendar. That is how a sentence people say turns into a phone call.
God speaks
God speaks through people, too.
Someone prays for you and tells you something he had no way of knowing. A word that lands. A promise about a thing you have told nobody.
Two weeks later half of it is gone. Six months on you are not sure he really said it that way.
Let it record while he is talking. Phil writes the transcript with it, so you can read it back and search it later. Who spoke, when and where, is right there.
Your journal sits in the same place: the verse you got stuck on this morning, impressions, dreams. After a few years you will see a line running through it that you could not see back then.
Prophecy never replaces Scripture, and it has to be tested. 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22.
What stays private
If a man tells you what is going on in his marriage, that is nobody’s business.
Ours least of all. Phil has no account and no server of its own. No ads, no analytics.
What you write stays on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud it also goes into your own private iCloud area, so it is there on your other devices as well. Nobody can reach it but you.
“God speaks” is locked behind Face ID. Testimonies stay open, because you need them fast in a conversation.

Teach it to your team.
An hour to explain, an hour to practice. After that everyone has the same thread in their head, and the night when nobody dares comes around less often.

What does Phil cost?
Nothing. No ads, nothing to buy inside, no subscription.
Do I have to sign up?
Not with us. No username, no password, no email address. Phil uses the iCloud your iPhone is already signed in to, and that is all it needs.
Everything sits on my iPhone. Is it gone if the iPhone is gone?
Normally not. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, and almost every iPhone is, Phil also files your entries there. New iPhone, same Apple Account, install the app: it is all back. Nobody gets into your iCloud but you, us included.
If you want to be certain, keep your own copy as well. Tap the info button in the app, then Backup. Phil packs everything into a single file — testimonies, prayer list, dates, recordings, photos. Email it to yourself. Restore brings it back, and nothing can break in the process: whatever is already in the app stays.
Who can read what I write?
Only someone holding your iPhone who can unlock it. We see none of it, because none of it is sent to us. “God speaks” is locked with Face ID on top of that. Testimonies stay open so you can get to them quickly mid-conversation.
Does Phil work without internet?
Yes. The three circles, the verses, your entries all sit on the device. The sync with your iCloud catches up once you have a signal again.
Which Bible translation do the verses come from?
New Living Translation. The rights notice is in the app.
May I store somebody’s medical report?
Only if he hands it to you himself because he wants you to have it. The report belongs to him.
